Your guide to buying a sofa bed

Your guide to buying a sofa bed

A sofa by day and a bed by night, our sofa beds are all about making the most of your space without compromising on comfort or style. It’s all about finding a sofa bed that feels as good to sleep on as it does to sit on, so here are our tips from getting your measuring just right, to finding the ideal fit for your space (yes, we even have corner sofa beds). Ready to find a sofa bed that’s practical, comfortable and perfect for your home?.

Why choose a sofa bed?

Sofa beds are great for unexpected guests, or if gatherings go on into the night. You can take a seat with the family, and when it’s bed time you can pull out the mattress and give your guests a restful night's sleep. They’re also the perfect space-saver for smaller homes, and they provide the best of both a sofa and a bed.

How often will you use a sofa bed?

When choosing your new sofa bed, it’s always best to consider how often you’ll use it. If it’s your main sofa in your living room, then you want to make sure you choose the right level of comfort for you, as it’ll be used every day.

The great benefit of a sofa bed is that it gives you a great place to entertain guests when not in “bed-mode”, so another consideration is to make sure it offers enough seating space to relax when the bed isn’t in use.

Whether you use your sofa bed regularly, or if it’s for occasional use, a handy matching storage footstool is another great space-saver to store the bedding and pillows for your sofa bed.

How to measure for a sofa bed

If you’re anything like us, you’ll want to measure twice - just to be sure. We recommend measuring the width and the length of the sofa bed and the space you want to put it in - make sure when you measure, you’re checking the width and length of the sofa with the bed pulled out. Measure the height if you plan to place the sofa bed under a window or in an area with a low or vaulted ceiling and make sure there’s space around the sofa when the bed is pulled out so access is easy.

So you’ve covered all the bases, it’s a good idea to also measure your doors and walkways to the room you plan on having your sofa bed in, as this will make delivery easier. Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions, like whether a sofa you like splits or breaks down for easier delivery.
